It is flu season, and unfortunately we know several friends who have fallen sick. Here is a simple idea for a get well soon package that you can make yourself to help brighten a loved one’s day. Kids can help put these packages together, and they may want to include a piece of their artwork or a special handmade card too. This is an easy and simple way to let loved ones know you’re thinking of them. My kids loved putting these packages together! Added bonus, almost all of the items can be found at your local dollar store. It doesn’t take a lot of time or money to show someone you care.
To make a get well soon package of your own, you will need:
Label the items with sticky notes. My 10 year old liked coming up with names for the items like “boogie dancers” for tissues, or “flu fighting tea”. You may also want to use some colorful paper treat bags! The more colorful your get well package is, the better!
Place items in a small cardboard mailing box. Kids may enjoy decorating the outside of the box with crayons, markers, or stickers. Write the recipient’s address on an index card and attach it to the shipping box with clear packaging tape. Mail your get well soon package and brighten someone else’s day!

Dear Valerie,
Remember when I was in college and told you that I had the sniffles? The next day, flowers, soup, and a small teddy bear showed up in the mail room.
That was sixteen years ago, and nothing has changed. Love you. :-*
